Furry411

Level 1

I have a sub-interface assigned with an IP, name and security zone

interface Ethernet0/1.5
vlan 5
nameif FirewallTransit
security-level 50
ip address 10.5.1.2 255.255.255.252

when I issue a show int ip br, it is unassigned, I have tried to rebuild this multiple times but I am unable to get this IP address on it.

Ethernet0/1 unassigned YES unset up up
Ethernet0/1.5 unassigned YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.10 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.15 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.16 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.100 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.101 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/1.102 10.x.x.x YES manual up up
Ethernet0/2 unassigned YES unset administratively down down

What am I missing here?

What platform and ASA software version is this on?

I assume you've tried "no shut" for the e0/1.5 subinterface

It's 9.1.6 I think... Yes I have tried a shut, no shut, I might try on eth 0/1 and see if that does anything. It did work at first, I re IPed the interface and now this is happening.

Odd. I'd definitely try bouncing the parent interface.

This isn't on a 5506 is it? They have a limit in the base license as to how many VLANs they support.

This is a 5510. I might just have to upload a new image to it, sounds like it might be a bug on this release...
