Cisco ASA 5505 ASDM Image File missing

I've been trying to configure this Cisco ASA 5505 for days now. I used to be able to use the ASDM gui application, but i've since transitioned into using the CLI. Trying to go back to ASDM, it won't let me get back in, and when i try show asdm image, it says Device Manager image file not set. I have no CD for this device and I need that image file for the ASDM. How can I locate the file and install it on the router so I can use it?

Hi Adam,

You would need to download the ASDM image from the link below, make sure your login id has proper downloading rights:

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=280582808&flowid=4377&softwareid=280775064&release=6.4.9&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Hope that helps.

Hi Adam!

If the ASDM-image is still on the flash:

Do a "show flash" and look for the asdm-image file. It's named asdm-xxx.bin, where xxx=version.

Then in config mode, type "asdm image disk0:/asdm-xxx.bin"

Hope this helps!
