Hi All,

My topology is attached herewith

1. If the failover interface of asa1 fails, will failover occur ?

2. if both are connected back to back, if the failover interfae of asa1 fails, will failover occur ?

As per my knowledge in both the case failover should not occur. PLease correct me if i am wrong.

As per Cisco, if failover interface fails, it will start monitoring through data interface like inside and outside etc, and wont failover --- Condition is failoverl link or cable connected to the firewall is faulty.

regards

Rajesh

1. & 2. Failover will not occur if you monitor any interfaces (sub-interfaces must be manually configured for monitoring).

I have answered a very similar question yesterday here. Check out the link for details.
