Hi Guys,

if you have two outside interfaces, can you monitor them using snmp?

They are setup as failover so if primary fails then secondary takes over.

At the moment primary responds to snmp polls but secondary interface does not . I cannot see any replies back from it . I can see traffic does reach it and it replies but that is about it .

please advice.

thanks

Hi,

Are you facing an issue with polling when secondary interface becomes the active member ?

Poll response will only be done by the interface which is on the active box.

Thanks,

Ankita

so if you have outside 1 and outside 2 and outside 1 is active

then outside 2 will not respond to polling ?

Have you enabled SNMP on the outside2 interface?

eg you will have:

snmp-server host outside1 X.X.X.X poll community your_community

Do you have the same sitting off of outside2?

yes I have

Hi,

Could you take captures on the outside2 interface for udp port 161/162 ?

Regards,

Aditya
