I got a Cisco PIX 515E. And I am trying to use a privileged enable password, but I have two options. I want to choose the most secure option to protect against hackers but I dont know wich of this two should I use.

enable password <password>

or

enable password <password> encrypted (This one is weird because even when I put the correct enable password it does not let me get privileged mode its sais invalid password)

Ok after searching on google I now understand the above two commands so that one is clear. My pix is running this version PIX Version 7.2(4)25. Now my worry is if is using a strong or weak encryption.

Is it  Cisco Type-7 Password?

Is it  Cisco Type-5 Password (MD5)?

This is an example of a password I am using for testing. Do you guys think the format is of a strong encryption?

enable password papito

Then I use the command show run to see password in his encrypted way and shows this

enable password 8cYi5SvczAvVLySj encrypted

By the way I cant use enable secret command, does not support it.

Ok I found it on google
