FDM v FMC

Do you need FMC to manage a single FWPR 4110 with AMP, or can you use FDM?

FDM in only available for small-midrange FTD appliances.

FPR4k does not contain the on-box mgmt FDM.

So no, you cant use FDM to manage FPR4K in any way.

Yes, this is a new feature of FTD 6.5 code.
