How to ASA5512 to an FPR2110 running FTD without an FMC

I'm currently trying to migrate a small to medium size config from an ASA5512 to an FPR2110 and I've tried using the Cisco Migration tool but it requires a connection to an FMC. Is there another method to get this done aside from the tedious manual work?

Hi

Yes you're right the tool works with FMC.
You can enable APIs in your asa and configure your ftd using apis as well. It will be automatic but i know you'll say it's the same as doing it manually.
The only thing is how many of these migrations you'll do and it sure worth it building your own.

Thanks
Francesco

I personally have never built an API. Is there a guide to building the API for the ASA?

You can access your asa using https url with /doc/ at the end.
Take a look at this quick guide:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/api/qsg-asa-api.html#pgfId-62428

On asa doc, you'll see all available api and how to use them.

Afterwards, look on Google for python api and you will get examples in how to call apis.

Thanks
Francesco
