How to force the renew of an outside address acquired via PPPoE?
I have an ASA 5505 (running 8.0.4) that dials into the Internet via DSL using PPPoE and leases a dynamic address from the ISP. Every 24 hours the ISP enforces the renewal of connection and with this the public IP address. I'd like to control when this happens (using cron and an Expect script on a server on the inside). However I can't figure out how to gracefully force a renewal of the PPPoE connection – administratively shutting down the actual Ethernet interface or the outside VLAN doesn't help nor does clearing interface outside.
Has anybody an idea what I am doing wrong? TNX for any pointers to the right direction.
