Inconsistent "show resource usage" output

Hi

I've multiple FWSMs running. The funny thing: When I do a "show resource usage" I have one blade showing a "Conns [rate]" and "Syslogs [rate]" values and one blade isn't.

SSH                         4           5         15             0 admin

Syslogs [rate]             1         437 unlimited             0 admin

Conns                     149       23465 unlimited             0 admin

Xlates                   154         2877 unlimited             0 admin

Hosts                     154         2877 unlimited             0 admin

Mac-addresses               6           7     65535             0 admin

All modules are running the same software version 3.2(10).

And the even more funny thing is: on one blade I have different output for all the contexts on it.

What's the reason for that behaviour? A bug?

Hi Roberto,

Can you please share a couple of varied outputs that you are mentioning, would like to have a look at the things that seem inconsistent to you.

Thanks,

Varun

Here you are:

Firewall/pri/act# show resource usage

Resource              Current         Peak      Limit        Denied Context

Syslogs [rate]             46         5798  unlimited             0 ContextA

Conns                    1457        24560  unlimited             0 ContextA

Xlates                   2587         4335  unlimited             0 ContextA

Hosts                    2587         4335  unlimited             0 ContextA

Conns [rate]               13         2899  unlimited             0 ContextA

Mac-addresses               6            6      65535             0 ContextA

SSH                         4            5         15             0 admin

Syslogs [rate]              1          837  unlimited             0 admin

Conns                     149        24465  unlimited             0 admin

Xlates                    154         4777  unlimited             0 admin

Hosts                     154         4777  unlimited             0 admin

Mac-addresses               6            6      65535             0 admin

Firewall/pri/act#

There are just the admin and the ContextA context.

What happened to "Conns [rate]" for the admin context? On an other module we don't see any kind of  "[rate]" information at all. Although the same release and command is used.

I am joining author with the same problem.

Command "show resource usage" typed in system context doesn`t show all resources for every context.

For some context there are "conns, xlates, SSH, syslogs [rate], hosts, conns [rate], fixups [rate]" and for another context there are only "conns, xlates, hosts" without any others statistics. Why is it possible?

My output:

FW-ADMIN# show resource usa | i adm

SSH                         1           15         15             0 admin

Syslogs [rate]             68         2100       2100             0 admin

Conns                    1087         6410      20000             0 admin

Xlates                    553         1583      18350             0 admin

Hosts                     471          519      18350             0 admin

Conns [rate]               30          998       2000             0 admin

Fixups [rate]              13          554       7000             0 admin

FW-ADMIN# show resource usa | i Sent

Conns                     791         1884       5000             0 Sentinel

Xlates                     24          212       7864             0 Sentinel

Hosts                      15           19       7864             0 Sentinel

FW-ADMIN#

Moreover, SNMP don`t show statistics for [rate]`s for context Sentinel.
