Is port www the same as http? Do I need to open port www for OWA?

Yes, www is the same as http which is TCP port 80.
If you are trying to access web OWA, then it is typically running on HTTPS, which is TCP port 443.

Well... Jennifer's answer is correct for practical purposes. But technically, http is the protocol which typically uses port 80 (but in many instances might not).
Also, www is Cisco's shorthand for use in things like ASA access list entries but it's really neither http nor port 80 by itself.
Likewise https is the secure implementation of http which commonly uses port 443.
