Has anyone successfully configured an ASA5520 to allow Legato Networker to backup Solaris machines in the DMZ from the inside network?

Cisco MGM uses an Oracle database. It is recommended that you protect your data by backing it up regularly. Backups can be stored on a local or network-mounted, disk-based file system; on a local tape drive; or on a remote tape drive.

Commercially available tools for Oracle and system-level backup include:

?Networker (or "Solstice Backup" when purchased from Sun Microsystems)

Hello,

From what I understand, Legato uses privileged TCP ports (512 - 1023) in it's backup scenario. You probably need to open them from your DMZ to the inside network - I would do it temporarily and check to see which way you need the ports (DMZ to inside, or inside to DMZ) and then close down whichever direction you need.
