Load Balance Web server with ASA

We're running ASA 5510s. We have a web server that we'd like to load balance. Basically if someone tries to go to the site, they'll go to one server or the other. Is this possible to do with the ASA? I read that it might be possible with a NAT pool. Is this the case? If so, how can I set this up?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi,

I don't think the ASA will be doing the load balancing....

On the ASA you need to create the static NAT entries for your servers and ACLs (so it will allow the traffic through).

If you need to load-balance between internal servers, you can do that using DNS or a load-balancer but it's not a function of the ASA.

Federico.

Thanks for the response.

I'm trying to do this for a public web server, not internal. Can I somehow use the ASA to send traffic for the public IP to 2 different servers in the DMZ - round robin or however?

Unfortunately you cannot do that.

You might be able to do it in ASA 8.3 dor different destinations, but you can't do it in round robin fashion etc.
