New Multi-instance capability for Firepower 4100/9300 with FTD 6.3

Hello experts,

FTD 6.3 is finally here, not as feature rich as I would have hoped for, but I hope that it is a stable release at last :)

I have a couple of questions on the new Multi-instance capability of the FTD 6.3

1- are we running different NFGWv in containers or is this something new?  as NGFWv has a throughput of only 1.9Gbps

2- if this is a new virtualised instance of the FTD, what are the performance guidelines for each instance ? will they share the old platform performance, or have a limitation per instance?

3- will each instance consume one license of FMC? or will it be considered as a box license?

4- will containers run natively on FXOS, or will there be something else installed on top of FXOS to manage the containers?

Thanks in advance

1- We run different FTD OS instances, not NGFWv. Instance sizes are determined by the CPU cores assigned thus performance varies.

2- We are working on a white paper that will explain all these in detail.

3- No extra license required

4- Everything is handled by FXOS, users do not have to worry about "containers"
