PPPoE support on a Cisco 5506-x

Hello,

We just bought a Cisco 5506-x Firewall to use on our small office.

We have a Fiber 100/100mb internetconnection and our ISP useses PPPoE to make a connection.

My problem is that the ISP makes use of PPPoE with a vlan 6 ( 802.1Q ).

I cann't find a way to configure the vlan with in the PPPoE connection.

Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard

If you just want to make sure that you have vlan 6 on the outside interface (the one that will be doing PPPoe) just follow the guide below

Thanks

Hi pantelis,

Thanks for the information.

But I found out that the Cisco ASA 5506-X does not support layer 2 on the gig ports.

So Vlan 6 will probably not work on the PPPoE port I configured.

So any other suggestions are welcome

Richard

Hi,

Cisco ASA 5506-X supports 5 VLans and 30 with Security Plus. You can define sub interface with Vlan 6 and select it for PPPoE interface. You can find the guide below.

Thanks.
