route ISP gateway

Hello;

I'm new into firewall things. I have a asa5505 to configure. my ISP gave me a ip address to use (x.x.x.x) and their gateway ip address (Y.Y.Y.Y) and I set the outside Vlan to use static IP and simply used "route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Y.Y.Y.Y 1" and it worked. I think that this route is too simple and I want to make it stronger. what if I use "route outside X.X.X.X 255.255.255.0 Y.Y.Y.Y 1"?

please help.

You can use more specific route as you mentioned but if you want internet to work the default route of 0.0.0.0 pointing to Y.Y.Y.Y is necessary.
