I have a question regarding the use of object groups on the Cisco ASA platform. Object groups are a great way to write firewall rules in a short and concise manner however I have found searching through the groups quite cumbersome. For example if I had a host called HOSTA with ip address 192.168.1.1 and it was part of multiple object groups how could I find out which groups the hosts belongs to.
We can use the standard | i & b options but these aren’t that useful in this case at the "b" option matches the host further down on the list and you can’t see the group name. The ‘i” option matches the host once again but you don’t get the group name
Is there any other way using the CLI to find out what groups a host is a member of. I believe it is possible using the asdm but I would much rather use CLI.
