Upgrade 5506X FirePOWER SFR engine via CLI

I'm looking to upgrade the FirePOWER engine via the CLI.  I know I can do it through ASDM.  We have an installation process that is highly automated, and GUI's don't really work well with that.

An initial installation and build can be done via the cli.

You cannot upgrade via the cli via any supported manner. Although the upgrade packages are Linux shell scripts, they are designed to be executed via the GUI.

Like Marvin stated, there is no supported way to do this. In case you do not  care about that feel free to upgrade via CLI (UI is only calling the upgrade script so it should not matter).

Update directory: /var/sf/updates
Update script: /usr/local/sf/bin/install_update.pl (should be in $PATH)
Update log: /var/log/sf/update.status (generated by install_update.pl)

root@ftd:/# install_update.pl /var/sf/updates/Cisco_FTD_Upgrade-6.1.0-330.sh

I would discourage you from using it, but if you know what you are doing you should be fine.

Let me know if you need to know anything else.
