Using Netscaler between sandwich firewall

Hi all,

We intend to use two firewalls, one external and one internal, with an netscaler between them.

The netscaler is connected to both firewalls with seperate nic.

From the internet all kinds of devices should be able to connect to the netscaler by setting up a https session.

The netscaler will show three options to a user.

1. mail synchronization

2. web-mail

Both 1 and 2 will be realized with the netscaler as a 'proxy' to get to the internal Exchange server through the internal firewall.

or first go to a MobileIron appliance and that will get the mail form the internal Exchange server.

3. citrix-session ( device will be checked if it already has a citrix receiver/client, if not it will bepushed )

A direct connection will be made from the internal to the external firewall for management purposes.

Is this a known and above all safe configuration?

Known issues with this setup?

Any suggestions on MobileIron?

Thanx for any suggestions/help.

If that is the requirement then so long as you allow only certain ports and protocols allowed from the internet destined to the netscaler you should be just fine.

Have you implemented it?
