Regarding Backup user

I am from the CMS team and we have a requirement of taking ISE backup for one of our customers. By using the admin user, I am able to execute the backup but when I create a user (without admin role) then it doesn’t show me the commands to create repo, backup command etc.

Is there any way to set privilege level for any user, just to perform backup because we are not in favour of putting the admin credentials in our assurance system?

Here’s what I see when I try it with a regular user –

ISE23/user1> ?

Exec commands:

  crypto      Crypto operations

  exit        Exit from the EXEC

  license     License operations

nslookup    DNS lookup for an IP address or hostname

  password    Update password

ping        Ping a remote ip address

  ping6       Ping a remote ipv6 address

  show        Show running system information

ssh         SSH to a remote ip address

  terminal    Set terminal line parameters

traceroute  Trace the route to a remote ip address

Thanks

Harish

There is no specific role that is dedicated to backup/restore operation. Please take a look at the different Admin group roles & see any other role will fit the bill.
