Hello,
I am currently looking at buying the IR1101 Base Unit then attaching the IRM-1100-SPMI which allows an MSata to be installed. Currently I can only find the following for the expansion module:
Highlights of the mSATA Pluggable Module are: Provides an additional 100GB of additional flash memory storage
Does this mean it will only take 100gb or that the Cisco MSata of 100gb is supported only?
I really would like to know if I can buy another vendor MSata of the same physical size and install it.

Cisco mSata of 100gb ((IR1101-SSD-100G) is supported on IR1101. We don't support third party mSATA on IR1101.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Are third party drives just not supported and potentially work or is it locked down to your drives only?

IR1101 is locked down to Cisco hardware.

Any chance they will be coming out with bundled SKU's in the future that do not have the SSD almost eclipsing the cost of the router itself?
