Hi,
Does CPO 2.3.4 provides any MVDC capability?
What we are looking for is a provision in CPO to connect to the database based on the SID without depending on the DB host name through LDAP connections. Is this possible or are there any other solutions that can optimized to achieve the MVDC Capability.
Regards,
Greg

I do not know what MVDC is, however in any DB connection you must have the hostname/IP address since that is what the connection APIs expect.
Perhaps you can explain what MVDC is?

Shaun,
MVDC is Metro Virtual Data Center. This is in the case of DR and for ensuring un-interrupted services by failing over from one Data Center to another in case of entire Data Center outage. There are lot more advantages by fuctioning in MVDC enabled environment.

Currently CPO does not support LDAP descriptors. As an alternative to host name, you could use the SERVICE NAME. Also, if your server is an Oracle RAC, then a SCAN address wil work. For details on these setup please refer to the section '
Configuring Process Orchestrator Adapter and Database Settings' in the help document.
