One of our customer is looking for the best practices to do the migration from one DC to another one with a 0 downtime of TES services …
They have about 4,000 jobs defined within the DB and they can imagine to freeze the modifications for some days. The old DC and the new one will have a full tremendous speed connexion full IP , all the infrastructures will be duplicated at least for one period around the TES env. We’ll need to apply temporary demo license for the preparation before the D Day H Hour. Certainly we’ll think about the right time this day for the compilation also depending on level of activities on the different agents.
So, the idea will be to use the fault monitor features . Do you have some documents or some feedbacks from similar experiences (Changing of physical TES env. With 0 stop of service). We have to think also at the DB HA.
THX'a a lot for your inputs.

Hi,
This is going to depend to some extent on your existing setup. Depending on version (5.3 or 6.x) there are several parts to this equation. There's the database to consider. Then there's master/agent and finally the client access.
What's your underlying database? Your first consideration will probably be how you replicate the data store. This will have varying degrees of complexity depending on whether you use SQLserver or Oracle. If your DB is not already replicated then in order to preserve your 0 downtime requirement you'll need to find a way to implement that without having to take it down.
Do you have a little more information on the basic structure of your environment eg versions, platforms etc?
Cheers

Thank you for your answer. Sorry for the delay but I was off during some days. The version used is V6.1 . The DB is SQL Server.
We'll go ahead with the customer in some days. I'll let you know if we need more infos.
Cheers
Chris
