TEO Target ( How to use web target )

Hello there,

I want to know how this web target work in TEO Target....

I want to assign target with IP address...

You can use a IP address if you want. The web target is meant to be like a target URL or WSDL. So an example could be www.google.com or http://localhost:61527/WS/

You can then configure a runtime user if you need to login to the webpage or no runtime user if you just want to get the webpage.

You can then run web execute (web services) activities or run http requests (web gets) and do thinks like web services execution or web scraping, etc

If that does not help, explain your use case more.

well when I go to http:// IP> i see IIS pop-up, when I go to that same IP with port 8088, there is no website/webpage there. So you have not set something up right on the website side, it has nothing to do with TEO. Whatever webpage/ip you put in your web request, you must be able to get to the webpage from the TEO server to be of any value.

Hello Chris...thax for reply...i did those steps but may be i am wrong somewhere or may be i am not....here is my case...

I just want to create dataset on NetApp Manag. Console.First,i created web target as you mentioned with runtime user and my url is http://172.21.54.171:8088 ..now here i confuse..when i ping 172.21.54.171..it reply back but when i was try 172.21.54.171:8088 nothing back..ok after that i made process for that to create dataset on NetApp and also define string variable for dataset name and storage service id. i also insert image here..i target as web target in my process but at web http request ..my process failed.....so this is my issue actually..

once again i am very thankful for yr each and all reply...and sorry if i keep disturbing you because i am very new for this application...

Hello Chris,

Yes ..you are right ...and i also mentioned in my prev. reply tht when i ping or open IP in IE it was open page but with :8088 i can't ...so at that point i had problem ...and this IP address provided from my lead ..so i need to contact him one more time....
