Hello!

I have got ASA5515-K8 and IPS license L-ASA5515-IPS-SSP= ordered separately.

What smartnet should I order to enable IPS singnature updates?

I tried to order SU1 smartnet for ASA5515-K8, but Product ID ASA5515-K8 is not mapped to SU1 service.

Thank you!

Hello!

What service P/N i have to order in this case?

I tried get a quote in SCC for SU1 level service and received the message

Product ID [ASA5515-K8] belonging to Serial/PAK Number [FGL......] is not eligible for [SU1] Level of Service.

Thank you!

Hello Andy, you can not purchase SUx service level for ASA5515-K8 as this is standalone ASA, without IPS functionality. Service level SUx is designed for complex service coverage = SmartNet + IPS updates. In your case ASA5515-K8 is just an ASA. The IPS functionality was enabled via  L-ASA5515-IPS-SSP=. So far this is my case as well. I have found NO IPS service available for  L-ASA5515-IPS-SSP as this would be logic. Does anyone from Cisco know how to handle?

Hi Andy,

Call Cisco TAC and get the serial number of the old device mapped to the SKU ASA5515-IPS-K8 ( As this will be the bundled ASA part number with the IPS). Once this is done you can buy the service SKU CON-SU1-A15IPS8.

Have they fixed this since the latest release of code now supports both IPS and AVC on the same appliance?
