Upgrade ssm-20: cisco ips Upgrade cancelled because ........

Hi all,

I 've been upgrading our ASA 55402 with SSM-20 modules.

Upgrade of one module from version 7.0(7)E4 to to 7.1(6)E4 went just fine.

However the second one returned the following error when trying to upgrade the image and recovery partition:

- cisco ips Upgrade cancelled because another upgrade or downgrade is in progress

The firewall on which i intended to do the upgrade was the passive one.

Firmware ASA: v9.1.1.

Searched the Internet and this forum.

Anyone ran into this?

Reload the module.

From the ASA CLI

hw-module module 1 reload ?

This will not kill the present image file and/or configuration of the IPS module?

Just to be sure

"hw-module module 1 reset" It won't cause any issues at all.

Hallo jocamare,

Did a reset of the module.

Upgrade was then possible again.

No issues as you said.
