2911 CME IVR Issue

Luc Boudreau
Level 1
Level 1

I have a 2911 running the latest CUCME. I have a voice translation rule setup to route all incoming calls to the IVR. The inbound calls just ring forever. Even if I switch the translation rule to an internal extension it won't ring the phone. I've randomly gotten it to work without changing anything but just calling in repeatedly. Any assistance would be helpful.

Issue is resolved.

Problem ended up being SIP ALG enabled on the EdgeRouter Pro we are running. Disabled it and problem went away.

Hello,

Can you be a little more specific by posting part of your configuration (translation rule) and making an example?

You may try to test your translation rule by using the command: test voice translation-rule by following the guidelines from this link: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/call-routing-dial-plans/61083-voice-transla-rules.html

Sorry about that. Should have included it in the original post. IVR is at pilot number 3000

Test shows normal:

Can you confirm that you are able to dial 3000 from any internal phone, just to make sure that the IVR is reachable from your end?

Yes works fine internally.

Can you post the "debug ccsip message"?

Thanks

I believe CUE is fine and this is a routing issue in CME. I don't see how you are getting to the outside as I don't see a default route to your ITSP. Also, there is no DHCP pool on CME to verify what the phones are using as a default GW. Maybe a little clarification from your side about how the calls are coming in and what GW phones are using would help narrow it down a little bit.

Ok so the CME Router is connected to a Ubiqiuti EdgeRouter. It pulls an IP from the EdgeRouter which gives it access to the outside. The Phone are also pulling IPs from the EdgeRouter and communicating to the CME Router on its second port connected to a 48 Port Switch.

Configured like this:

EdgeRouter -> Cisco Router -> 48 Port Switch -> Phones

The connection between the EdgeRouter and Cisco Router is NATed

That explains why we don't see all SIP messages in your debug.

I would do things differently. For example, you can:

- Move DHCP for phones to CME, you would need a separte VLAN (in this case 20)

ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.4.1 192.168.4.20
!
ip dhcp pool voice
network 192.168.4.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 192.168.4.5
option 150 ip 192.168.4.5
!

Try to configure your CUE interface this way:

interface ISM0/0
ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0.20
service-module ip address 192.168.4.6 255.255.255.0
service-module ip default-gateway 192.168.4.5

!
ip route 192.168.4.6 255.255.255.255 ISM0/0

Hope this helps!

Issue is resolved.

Problem ended up being SIP ALG enabled on the EdgeRouter Pro we are running. Disabled it and problem went away.
