 Hello, collaboration professionals!

Please, answer to my question. Where is 3PCC firmware for 7800 and 8800 series phones. Can I change firmware for existing 7800/8800 phones with CUCM firmware to 3PCC , and if I can, how to do it?

Thank you.

CP-8851-3PCC-K9= is the SKU, you need to enter it into CCW as a whole because search doesn't work on it.

Hi Manish,

I have 8000 series IP Phone, when i checked with Cisco support, they say, the enterprise firmware can't be downgraded to 3PCC which we would like to connect to Asterisk, the vendor also not support enough to replace this, Can't we flash on our own to have 3PCC in place....! can you advise us on this.

Thanks.

Hi,

I came across this post and have a requirement to upgrade some 7811 Phones from 3PCC to enterprise firmware.

I have set the url on the Provisioning tab to tftp://Server IP/cmterm-78xx.11-5-1SR1-1-K3-cop.sgn

The phone begins an upgrade but always fails on the TFTP server after downloading approx. 60MB of the 66MB file.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

Ian

OK, so based upon the release notes, you have to perform this step to upgrade from one 3PCC version of firmware to another:

Step 4   Configure the Upgrade Rule on the Provisioning tab in the web page with the valid URL. The format is:

http://<phone_ip>/admin/upgrade?<schema>://<serv_ip[:port]>/filepath

The third-party call control can also upgrade via a URL in the web browser:

http://<phone_ip>/admin/upgrade?<schema>://<serv_ip[:port]>/filepath

Note

The loads file is put in the file path of the above url. The zip file contains other file types also. Only loads file is used in the above URL.

After the firmware upgrade completes, the phone reboots automatically.

OK, so I get the <phone_ip> and the <serv_ip[:port]> and /filepath, but what information goes into the <schema> field?  Here is what I've been getting with recent attempts:

Firmware Upgrade Status
Firmware Upgrade Status 1:     [01/02/70 00:01:31] [http://192.168.22.101/admin/upgrade?sip88xx.10-4-1OD-164-3PCC.loads://192.168.22.2:23/sip88xx.10-4-1OD-164-3PCC.loads] Upgrade Failed. Reason: Unknown Error

Provisioning Status

Provisioning Status 2:     [2181] [09/27/16 10:46:19] [/$PSN.xml ]Resync Failed. Reason: Error - Invalid URL
Provisioning Status 3:     [2180] [09/27/16 09:45:48] [/$PSN.xml ]Resync Failed. Reason: Error - Invalid URL

OK, nevermind, it just dawned on me that the <schema> is either TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS.

Even after correcting that I still get failure due to unknown error. . . . .

Hey there. Did you ever get the 3PCC phones converted to enterprise? Please share. Thanks.

Did you ever get the 3PCC phones converted to enterprise?

I have not tried this but, it it looks like it's possible.  Feedback ?

Below are the instructions that I found, HOWEVER do not unzip the downloaded file.

from previous posts.

8800 upgrade from 3PCC to Enterprise

Dear all,

I might have missed something in the documentation but I spent a lot of time trying to upgrade my 3PCC phones to Enterprise.

This is why i wanted to share it with you in a simple task list:

  1. download from CCO a 8800 firmware. .zip format, not .cop.sgn.
  2. unzip the files and share it with a TFTP server. I used a third party TFTP server and the CUCM too, both works.
  3. connect to the phone using the following URL: http://<IP Phone IP Address>/admin/advanced
  4. click on Voice tab and Provisioning.
  5. in Upgrade Rule field, put tftp://<TFTP Server IP Address>/<path if not in the root>/<Firmware name>.loads (exemple: tftp://1.1.1.1/sip88xx.10-3-1-20.loads)
  6. for Enable Enterprise Image Upgrade, select Yes.
  7. check if the Firmware upgrade is at it's default value (Yes) and click on Submit All Changes.

MIND not to unplug power during upgrade!!! We have lost one phone because of a bad network connector...

I have a brand new, never configured CP-8865-K9= with firmware sip8845_65.11-0-1SR1-2

Service level is Enterprise.

I see the multiplatform firmware for the 8845/65 can be downloaded but it seems no CP-8865-3PCC-K9= is available on the market.

Therefore, how can this firmware be used/uploaded to my existing phone?

Thanks.

There is such phone if you search for it in CCW, with a lead time of 21 days:

Sadly it seems no distributor is carrying this model (yet?).

Hello,

Sorry but this firmware is not plublished on CISCO software download.

I need MPP 10.2 or 10.3 for 88xx (8851)!

Could you tell me How to?

Thanks.

10.x for MPP is not supported anymore. You can look for 11.2.1 which is last and latest released firmware for MPP devices.

Thanks

Yeah, but you're asking for MPP FW, and that 10.3 FW you're referring, is FOR CUCM

8811, 8841, 8851, 8851NR and 8861 SIP IP Phone load signed COP file - Compatible CUCM Versions: 8.5(1)+
cmterm-88xx-sip.10-3-1-20.k3.cop.sgn

MPP FW is exactly where the note on top says:
