An odd problem that we haven't had any luck searching for. We've recently gotten a new Cisco conference phone, model 7937. Overall, it's been quite a nice upgrade. Our office uses WebEx frequently for client conference calls, and similiar to many other conference call services, when someone joins the call there's a beep notifying everyone. Multiple times now since we've had the 7937, our client has simply just popped up on the line, saying "Hello!" with no beep or notification. We've been led to believe it has something to do with the new phone since it wasn't an issue before. Perhaps there's some kind of background noise cancellation that's cutting that beep out?
And of course, we can just get in the habit of hitting mute until the client comes on, I'm just trying to make sure no one has a foot-in-mouth situation where they say something inappropriate not knowing that a client has already joined the call!
