Hello,
We have some new 7941 ip phones that when plugged in they try to upgrade the firmware but says error and just keep rebooting over and over. We have call manager 8. Also, the new 7941 ip phones come with 8.5.2 firmware and our default phone firmware for 7941 phones is 9.1.1. We also try to do download the firmware between 8.5.2 and 9.1.1 such as 8.5.3 and apply to 7941 phones but that did not work.
Any Suggestions.

Hi
If you IP phone has firmware 8.5.2 firmware, you do not need any intermediate firmware for the upgrade. Direct upgrade is alloed.
For all SCCP firmware upgrades from firmware release versions earlier than 8.3(3) to version 8.5(2)SR1 or greater, you must first upgrade your firmware to version 8.5(2). Once you have upgraded to version 8.5(2), you can upgrade your IP Phone to version 9.1(1)SR1 or later.
To resolve this issue
1) Check the CTL and ITL files loaded on the phones and delete those file from the phones.
2) Rest to factory default and restart.

What exactly is the error message the phones give whilst trying to upgrade ?
