7942/7962 Microphone Volume "Too Low"

Running CUCM 8.5.1, phone firmware version: SCCP42.9-3-1SR1-1S

I have has an influx of users saying that the people they talk to over speaker (both internal and external) say their sound is very low or that they sound far away.  For internal I have a mix of G722 (7900 to 7900), G711 (7900 to 6900), and G729 (WAN calls and external).

Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

No, never figured it out.  Not too many people complained since most people use the handset or a headset in an office environment.
