I have Cisco 7960G that is stuck with Protocol Application Invalid* on the display.
I bought the phone off of ebay and it was set up to use SIP. So I upgraded it to SCCP and it worked jsut fine with CME.
I took the system down for a few weeks and when I plugged it back it, it now is stuck in this mode. The phone does get an IP address and I can ping that address However, when I try to get to the phone in a browser, it does not reach the phone.
I can do factory reset but it does not help.
Opetion 150 is set correctly as other phones work jsut fine.
Any suggestions???

Did you save the right SCCP firmware on the CME router before you turned it off? Check the tftp-server config.

Yosh

I am very new to Cisco VoIP.
After I shut down the CME router (when everything was working) I cleared the nvram and started over. The router and CME are the same but the config file is fresh. Can you point me as to where/what to check?

Michael,
This is part of a software bug
You need to put the phone on the data vlan with access
to option 150 on that scope.
Once the phone loads there you should be able to move it
back to a normal voip port

If you have a "BRICKED" phone or "TFTP Timeout" or "Protocol Application Invalid"
Scenario:

Immediately press and hold # and while the
Headset, Mute, and Speaker buttons begin to flash in sequence, release #.
Press 123456789*0# within 60 seconds after the
Headset, Mute, and Speaker buttons begin to flash.
When asked, select 2 to avoid saving previous configuration
PROCEDURE:
