When I boot up the phone it gets it's ipv6 address then I see this.

009593: Jan 15 14:43:07.308: TFTP: Looking for CTLSEPC0626B639254.tlv
009594: Jan 15 14:43:07.429: TFTP: Looking for ITLSEPC0626B639254.tlv
009595: Jan 15 14:43:07.551: TFTP: Looking for ITLFile.tlv
009596: Jan 15 14:43:07.819: TFTP: Looking for SEPC0626B639254.cnf.xml.sgn
009597: Jan 15 14:43:07.989: TFTP: Looking for XMLDefault.cnf.xml.sgn

I did show telephony-service tftp-bindings and it shows XMLDefault.cnf.xml in a folder. Not sure why it's looking for a file ending in sgn, so not sure if that's significant.

For the registration this is the config:

telephony-service
protocol mode ipv6
max-ephones 15
max-dn 15
ip source-address XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:XXXX port 2000
auto assign 1 to 15
cnf-file location flash:
load 7911 SCCP11.9-4-2SR1-1S.loads
load 7962 SCCP42.9-4-2SR1-1S.loads
time-zone 8
time-format 24
max-conferences 8 gain -6
transfer-system full-consult
!
!
dspfarm profile 1 mtp
codec g711ulaw
maximum sessions software 100
associate application SCCP

!

gateway
timer receive-rtp 1200
!
sip-ua
protocol mode ipv6
!
!
ephone-dn 1 dual-line
number 5551111
description Phone VOIP 01
!

Any suggestions for what to look at?

Thanks!

In case this helps someone with SCCP. Running the create cnf command in telephony services fixed the missing information in the XMLDefault.cnf.xml and the phone registered.

I'm getting more curious. The configuration has worked previously on 29XX routers, but this is a 4351 so there might be some changes.

Show telephony-service tftp-bindings shows 'tftp-server system:/its/vrf1/XMLDefault.cnf.xml alias XMLDefault.cnf.xml.

The file exists, I was able to download it with tftp on my laptop. But the phone is requesting XMLDefault.cnf.xml.sgn and I don't see that file. Now have to see if there should be a .sgn file or what else could be causing this.

It looks like that phone had been previously registered with a ccm. Erased the ITL and now the phone successfully downloads the XMLDefault.cnf.xml file. Downside is it just keeps doing that over and over. But hey, progressing bit by bit.

Edit:

So I noticed in the XMLDefault.cnf.xml the process node is just 0.0.0.0 and the loads themselves seem to be blank. As in:

<loadInformation404 model="Cisco IP Phone 7962"></loadInformation404>.

I wonder if something happened with the default config file.
