7962 with 2 Expansion Modules

Hi

I am having a problem configuring the buttons for 2 expansion modules. I have a 7962 configured. Creating a phone button template I can only configure 36 buttons but physically I have 54 buttons (6 on phone, 24 on exp mod 1, 24 on exp mod 2).

So I can configure the first expansion module which is being used for monitoring lines. The second expansion module is being used for speed dials but I can only configure 4. Im not entirely sure where the others are going.

I am running CallManager 6.1(3)

Anyone been through this before?

I believe you are hitting this bug which has only been fixed in certain 6.1(3) versions;

CSCsx47243

CUCM 6.1.3 Phone Button Template for 7962/7965/7975 Shows 34/36 line.

Symptom:

On CUCM version if you have a 2 7916 extension module on7965 and 7975 the Phone Button template is not capable of 42 lines as per Document we can only ad 34/36 respectively.

Conditions:

When you want to add the 2 7916 extension modules to the Ip phone 7965 /7975 Phones we can not make 42 line Phone Button template for those Phones.

Sorry, I meant above that I can only configure 34 buttons. The rest show up on the phone config page as "Unassigned Associated Items"

Hi Rob

thanks for the detailed reply. I actually made a mistake when I put down the CM version. We are actually running 6.1.4.1000-10

Should be fixed in this version........

However the phone firmware is only 8.4

Going by a table in that link I need 8.5(3) onwars.

Hi Michael,

Yes, you are most correct my friend

The added button support was only included in 8.5(3) and later firmware. I don't

believe 8.5(3) is available as it was deferred due to some funky bugs. Make sure to

check the Firmware release notes to see what Add-on module firmware is required

for compatibility

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/firmware/9_1_1/english/release/notes/7900_911.html#wp42707

Cheers!

Hi,

I have CUCM BE 8.0.3 and i have one 7962 with two 7915 modules (24 keys each).

Only 7915 near phone is working the other nodule doesn't show any keys configured it only show cisco Logo. I have created a phone button template with 54 keys.

and in device phone i have configured two 7915 24 keys module.

Original 7962 firmware with these version of CUCM BE is SCCP42.9-0-2SR1S  also tried to upgrade phone to latest version of 7962 firmware 9.1(1)SR1

and also

I tried to connect  only the second module to phone and the module is ok.  I have a power cube connected to 7915 module near 7962 phone.

Any Suggestion?

Thanks

Best Regards

MC
