8841 Requested Load ID firmware?

Hi,

We've purchased a new Cisco 8841 phone for evaluation. I've got it up and running on the CM. I've upgraded the phones firmware to 12.1-1 SR1-4. The phone has a sticker on the bottom of it that says  SW must be 11.7 or later so I understand it can't be downgraded below that. My question is why is the Download status failed and the requested load ID 10-2-2-16? The inactive load is 11-7-1-17. I've uploaded the 12.1 to the CM and restarted the TFP service. We only have one CM. Our CM version is 10.5.2. Is there something I should do to fix this? The phone is showing active and trusted.

Phone Configuration

Registration: Registered with Cisco Unified Communications Manager 172.X.X.X
IPv4 Address: 172.X.X.X
Active Load ID: sip88xx.12-1-1SR1-4
Inactive Load ID: sip88xx.11-7-1-17
Download Status: Failed
Requested Load ID: sip88xx.10-2-2-16
Download Server: 172.X.X.X
Inactive Load Failure Reason Internal Phone Error

How did you upgrade the phones? That version of firmware for those phones was the base firmware of an older devicepack (https://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074299/124017/cmterm-devicepack10.5.2_12014-1_Release_Notes.pdf)

I suggest following the install guide for updating the phones via the device packs: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/Devpacks_admin/CMDP_BK_CD82F19C_00_cisco-unified-communications-manager-device.html

I just updated the firmware for that specific phone. I didn't update the device pack. I didn't want to upgrade the rest of my phones. I have a bunch of 7942,7945 and 7965 phones. I'm guessing I should upgrade the device pack to 10.5.2. on the CM?

I uploaded the CM device update pack to the CM server as per the instructions. I rebooted the phone and it upgraded and now the inactive load id message is gone. Everything looks good! Thank you!
