Issue: Cisco 8845 is unable to make call to another 8845 at a remote site across a VPN tunnel
CUCM version: 11.0.1.10000-10
Symptoms:
- When either phone calls the other, the receiving phone rings
- When local phone calls remote phone, local phone shows connected but remote phone continues to ring even after pressing the answer button
- When remote phone calls local phone, local phone cannot hear the remote user but the remote user can hear the local user (one way audio from local site to remote only)
- In each case, after the phone call fails, the remote phone will re-register with CUCM
Troubleshooting:
- Connected a 7940 to the same network as the local 8845 and was able to make calls both directions
- Moved the 7940 to another subnet in order to test routing and was able to make calls both directions to the local 8845
- Changed 7940 from SCCP to SIP and calls to the local 8845 were still good
- Called the remote 8845 from the local 7940 and call works
- Remote 8845 called the local 7940 and call works
- If a call is in progress between the remote 8845 and the local 7940 and I try to connect the local 8845, the remote 8845 will not connect and will drop the connection to the 7940, then re-register with CUCM
- Attempted calls between both 8845's with the shutter closed on the camera with the hopes that it will just setup an audio call but still fails.
I am wondering if there is something different about the call setup between the two 8845's that is not present in a 7940. Could possibly be a CODEC problem or something to do with the video? Suggestions?
