I recently acquired 2 8841s and 1 8851 and have noticed an issue:
On the 8841s, when the screen turns off due to inactivity, it is completely dark - like it would be if no power was supplied to the phone.
One the 8851 though, when the screen turns off due to inactivity, the backlight seems to remain on (possibly at a much lower brightness than when the screen is actually showing something). Initially, the backlight evenly lits the screen and slowly the center and sides fade off until only the bottom part of the screen is dimly lit - and remains so indefinitely. Again, the light is much lower than during normal operation, but still noticeable in dim environments. I am attaching 2 photos of how the phone looks right after the screen turns off and after around 5 minutes.
Would add that the 8841s seem to have been manufactured in late 2017, according to their boxes, while the 8851 in 2014.
Is this normal behavior? It looks weird to me.
