8861 to 8861 internal calls no audio

I have a CUCM version 15.0.1.11900-2  I have two 8861 wireless phones. They work calling everywhere inside to a lan connected phone, outside to the PSTN but if you call between the two 8861 wireless devices there is NO audio. Codecs look fine , hold , MOH all works just no audio both ends. I put the latest firmware on the phones no change. I can call from a wireless 8821 and it works it is only between 8861's. Wireless guys say their stuff is fine. I am asking for sniffer trace but we will see Codec g711. Has anyone seen this and by the way it has been working for a couple years. No one has made any changes to hardware or software.

First of all, the 8861 is not a wireless phone; it's a desk phone. The 8821 is a wireless phone. I assume you are using wireless to connect the 8861 and powering the phone using PoE or a Power Cube.

The no-voice issue in your case is likely a network problem. The media will flow directly from one phone to the other as you talk each other face to face.

One quick check I do in this case is to look at the call status on the phone, which shows RX and TX packets. If the RX packet count is "0," it means no packets are being received by the phone from the network. TX represents the packets sent by the phone to the other end.

A packet capture would be a good starting point.

Additionally, make sure the call is connected at both ends.

Nithin,

The 8861 is a wireless phone :"The Cisco Internet Protocol (IP) Phone 8861 is equipped with a wireless feature"  We have 400 of them. but thank you for quick response. The rtmt trace shows the phones connecting it doesn't make sense as they were working. I am trying to get a sniffer trace soon as I do I hopefully will have answer.  Hold and MOH work. Yo can verify the data sheet. We have had them for at least4 years

It’s a wireless capable desk phone. As @Nithin Eluvathingal pointed out it’s not a wireless phone in the sense that it’s a portable device. Regardless the advice given is applicable, so please check the things suggested by Nithin.

Guys this is Symantec’s. yes you are correct it is wireless capable. In my application it is a wireless phone. If I turn on needs MTP it works but I suspected that.  If we downgrade the wireless AP’s it works so it seems to work.  So the Aruba app’s. the code on the ap’s seem to be issue.  As a temp fix I will turn on requires MTP for now.   I do appreciate the help.
