customer purchased new cisco ip phone 8875, but unable to add to their existing cucm 14.0.1.10000-20 and not showing in the phone list this model

Do they need to upgrade CUCM 14 to support 8875 phone or any device pack to be installed?

14.0.1.10000-20 is an FCS version; please try to update it to the latest SU as its recommended than FCS.

Install the latest V14 Device package, which will add the 8875 phone. I don't recall if we also need to install the device enabler file (QED) as well.
Install the device package and check.

If you are on the latest SU that supports 8875 natively, you don't need a device package. If I'm not wrong , the latest 14SU supports 8875 natively. I don't recall from which version the support was introduced.
If you are not upgrading,  with the existing version, go with the device package installation to have 8875 support.

Hello,

Your version of CUCM was released on 31-Mar-2021.

However, the 8875 phone was built in later and you are now able to upgrade to the latest version to pick up that phone model.

The lowest it was available is SU3 and even more specific is

May 18, 2023 - Added support for Cisco Video Phone 8875.

CUCM 14 SU 5 was released in October:  https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286328117/type/286319236/release/14SU5

I would definitely recommend that you upgrade to the latest SU on 14 because that way you can pick up any code that we might have added later to allow the phone to function better. This would also include the proper phone firmware which is found at the following location:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286331336/type/282074288/release/3.5(1)SR1

We just released some new firmware for that phone in September, so be sure to upgrade the phone firmware when possible as well.

so both upgrade and device pack installation required right? when it is upgraded to latest SU, device list will not get updated? still needed device pack installation?

If the hardware is supported they can go for CUCM 15 also, right ,because cucm 14 is already announced end of life ?
