I'm working on trying to get some 9800s to connect via the VPN client on the device to a Palo Alto firewall (PAN-OS 11.2) at the head-end in order to connect to the CUCM in a remote lab environment. I can't find any documentation on how to make this work (or if it will work at all), but since it appears to be using the Secure Access client app on the device I would think it should be able to connect with minimal issue.
You can ask the firewall admin to create site-to-site VPN for 9800s subnet to connect them to the CUCM at the remote site. installing VPN agent on the phone is not supported so client-to-server VPN can't be used in that case.
On 78xx and 88xx series phones that was true but with the 9800 series running phoneOS (android-based), my understanding is that it can run the Secure Client (anyconnect replacement) which is what prompted this
