All,
I was told that starting CUCM 8 onward there is no need for 3rd party vendor appliance to carry out active recording. Is it true? If yes then please let me know how to do it?
Requirement is :
- Continous recording : There are few set of end users where any calls coming to them should be recorded all the time
- Ad-hoc recording : we want to provide a facility for the end user where recording can be done ad-hoc.
During my last post may be around 7-8 months, I was told that CUCM 8 will have this inbuilt and this is possible to do with a dedicated server.
Please clarify.
Regards

No, that's not true.
There are enhancements in order to make it easier to integrate with recording systems.
CUCM is a call agent, not a recording appliance.
You need separate SW/HW to record the call.

Cisco MediaSense Server does the recording and I am not sure whether that will do the job. If it does, I am looking for a referal design documents
