In RTMT access the Performance Thread "Phones Registered" under the Cisco CallManager section and set up a custom alert where if the registration number drops by 1 (or more) the system will send you an alert. (I don't have RTMT open in front of me right now and may not have the names exact, so you may have to hunt around for that specific performance counter.)

You will also have to set up SMTP so that CUCM can send you an email. Once configured, the alert is really in CUCM and not in RTMT so you don't have to have RTMT open for the alert to be generated.

Here is a link to a Cisco doc showing how to set up a custom alert:

And here is a link to setting up SMTP for CUCM:

Both of these are technically for older versions of CUCM, but the instructions have not changed and should work for any recent version.

This should get you started. Let us know if you have questions.

RTMT can provide an alert when phones go down, but I don't believe it can do so for a specific phone. Do you need an alert for a specific phone for for any phone?

Hello Ma’am,

Thank you for your response.

Actually, I need an alert for any phone in the organization. For example, if we have 500 IP phones and any one of them goes down, an alert (email/Outlook notification) should be generated.

If this is possible, could you please guide me with the proper configuration steps?
