Greetings,
I have an Analog (VG224/SCCP) and IP phone that share the same number, however the analog cannot pickup an active call that originated on the IP phone - and vice versa. What programming is required to transfer the call between the two phones?
Thanks

Hi there,
I believe this type of functionality was only recently added to FXS - SCCP ports off
of a VG224.

Hi Rob,
Very useful link on the cBarge/Privacy and Shared line for the VG224, thanks.
The link you referred to says that the minimum Cisco Unified CM version that cBarge with Shared line for analog VG224 ports is 7.0 However my customer has shown me some reference that refers to cBarge and Shared line on a version 6.1 system. Can you clarify this please.
thanks

Hi Chris,
Not sure what the customer is referencing here It is true that
barge and cbarge have been part of CUCM since the 4.x days but
this document (above) is speaking to the use of cbarge and privacy
with SCCP FXS ports/phones using the supplementary services. The support
for this was added in CUCM 7.0. It's possibly also supported in the later
6.1 versions but I don't see that in any release notes.
Cheers!

Hi Rob,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
I will be going to the customer site today to do some tests, and see if one of the VG224 analog ports is able to barge in on a shared line call with their version 6.1 system, which is the customers requirement. If this doesn’t work, then the customer will need to consider and upgrade to 7.0.
Thanks again Rob

Hi Rob,
I found from the site tests today, that the VG224 analog port when configured with a Shared DN with 2 other IP phones, was unable to barge into the shared line call made from another of the IP phones, even though the second IP phone was able to barge into the shared call. When I picked up the receiver of the analog handset, I would hear busy tone, when the shared line was busy with a call from the other IP phone. Also making an incoming call to the shared DN, the analog phone rang, along with the other 2 IP phones, indicating some level of shared line function worked with the analog phone. It seems that this system version 6.1 doesnt support barge in with VG224 ports. From your experience is there much process involved in upgrading the system to version 7.0 which supports barge in on VG224 ports?
thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
This is a significant upgrade so you will need to do your "due diligence" before moving ahead with this upgrade. CUCM 7.0 is not available any more, which is good as it was a
bit sketchy So the only 7.x version still available is 7.1(5)
You need to check the CUCM upgrade compatibility, the server support for this version, you will need a Software Feature License for 6.x to 7.x, you'll want to make sure your IP Phones are at a release that will move forward to 8.5(3) or 91(2) (7941/61, 7942/62, 7945/65). there are probably some other considerations as well that I'm missing right now.
