Hi

    From my understanding,

Unlike the ATA 186/188, the 187 can only be configured via CUCM(Cisco Callmanager 7.1(5) and above only).

Under, Cisco ATA SIP services

• Cisco ATA configuration through Cisco UCM configuration interface

The ATA configuration has been simplified and streamlined to mimick that of an IP phone. All available options are now on the CUCM page for the ATA.

For more information, please see the following links

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps514/ps11026/data_sheet_c78-608596.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cata/187/1_0/english/administration/guide/sip/a187_ag2str.html#wp1102295

You just need a dial-peer at the gw as below,

! Fax configuration for Inbound / Outbound VoIP dial-peer

dial-peer voice voip

  fax protocol t38 ls-redundancy 0 hs-redundancy 0 fallback pass-through

  fax-relay ecm disable

  fax nsf 000000

  fax-relay sg3-to-g3

Please rate if this helps. by clicking the stars below.

Thanks

thank you

how can  configure fax for cme ?

please send me the one solution.......

ATA 187 only supports SIP so you will need to add this as a SIP phone to CME. Once registered you can configure the appropriate dial-peers.

Off the top of head - you will need at the minimum below config to register your ATA to CME:

voice register global

mode cme

source-address

max-dn X

max-pool Y

voice register pool 1

id mac XX:XX:XX:XX

type ATA-187

number 1 dn 1

dtmf-relay sip-notify

codec g711ulaw

!

voice register dn 1

number XX

name Fax

label Fax

!

See below link for detailed configuration to register a SIP device - Its for 9971 but ATA setup will be quite similar:
