ATA 187 outgoing fax problem !!!

hi to all..

we've installed ATA 187 in CUCM 7.1(5) for fax services..

before ATA 186 EoS, our client used ATA 186 and now they've bought bunch of ATA 187's..

so, on ATA 187 we're receiving fax sucessfully, but we cannot send faxes towards PSTN..

since ATA 187 introduced device settings on CUCM admin page instead web page of device itself, we configured fax passthrough on CUCM admin page..we didn't touch other parameters..all gateways use fax passthrough..

so, the call is established but fax communication fails..

we're getting "communication error" on fax machine..

analog phones can make outgoing calls just fine..

we can also make local fax calls between ATA's  ( 187 & 186 ) but not to PSTN..

so, gateway to PSTN is h.323 gw ( AS5350 & 2821 )..and they use fax passthrough..

all the ATA186 in system do not have this problem..they work just fine..

any ideas before opening TAC case..

thanx..

regards..

Dear friend.

I have done!

But I don't need to configure so much.

I did 2 step.

1. Forward PSTN number to Extension (6XXX).

2. Enable fax pass-through in fax configuration/voice service voip and use dial peer as a phone.

This is my configure:

voice service voip

allow-connections h323 to h323

allow-connections h323 to sip

allow-connections sip to h323

allow-connections sip to sip

fax protocol pass-through g711alaw

dial-peer voice 6 voip

description

destination-pattern 6...

voice-class h323 1

session target ipv4:

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

codec g711ulaw

no vad

Thanks all for your help

Glad to hear it!

Hi Jorge,

I got "It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested. You might  contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake."  on your document https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-25210. I would like to keep the documents to share between our team. Would you please have a quick look into this?

Cheers,

Lay

I just tried this configuration:

on CCM

ATA187

fax mode: T.38 Fax Relay

Fax ECM: off

Fax rate: 9600

On cisco2901

voice service voip
 ip address trusted list
  ipv4 X.X.X.X
 allow-connections h323 to h323
 allow-connections h323 to sip
 allow-connections sip to h323
 allow-connections sip to sip
 supplementary-service h450.12
 fax protocol pass-through g711alaw
 h323
 sip
  bind control source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0.1
  bind media source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0.1
  session refresh
  header-passing
registrar server expires max 120 min 60
  transport switch udp tcp

dial-peer voice 4664 pots
 trunkgroup ALL_FIJ
 translation-profile incoming 94xxxxxxx
 incoming called-number 94xxxxxxx
 direct-inward-dial

<fax rate system> command enable

with this config, sometimes work and sometimes it fails.

And I don't know what more to try,
