ATA 187 por 2 not registering in SRST mode

Hi,

i have ATA 187 registered in its two ports with CUCM 8.0(3) and i have VG 2921 with SRST version 8.1 i configured a voice register pool for each port as follows:

voice register pool 1

id mac 0012.7F3B.9025

number 1 2800

codec g711ulaw

voice register pool 2

id mac 127F.3B90.2501

number 1 2801

codec g711ulaw

the above MAC is just an example. if ATA MAC is 0012.7F3B.9025 then this will be for port 1 which is registering fine and 127F.3B90.2501 will be for the second port as the way it is registering with CUCM server.

my issue is that the second port in ATA is not registering in the SRST gateway. Iam not sure if something is missing on my configuration.

regards,

Ibrahim

any support please

If you get a packet capture off the ATA, do you see the ATA send a REGISTER for the second port?  Do you see a SIP REGISTER for that port come in the SRST router with 'debug ccsip mess'?

It may be that only registration of the first port is supported with SIP ATAs to SIP SRST.  I've never tested it to verify behavior, personally.

Hi Steven,

when the ATA is in SRST mode, i checked the SIP statistics with "show voice register pool 1" and "show voice register pool 2"

for pool 1 i see the sip requests and registration while on the pool 2 there is nothing (not even a request). I am not sure if i configured the second port correctly since i did not see any cisco document stating how to configure that on the gateway.

i will try to check with 'debug ccsip mess'. it is stated in cisco that ATA 187 is not supported officialy in CME until summer 2011 but nothing mentioned about SRST mode.

regards,

Ibrahim

Hello,

Now it is working great. I did some debug messages and troubleshooting and i modified the configuration as follows:

voice register pool 1

id mac D057.4C6B.DC7B

number 1 2010

cor incoming Local-CSS default

codec g711ulaw

or simply the following:

voice register pool 1

id mac D057.4C6B.DC7B

number 1 2010

number 2 2011

cor incoming Local-CSS default

codec g711ulaw

so the gateway register the two ports with the same mac address.

regards,

Ibrahim

voice register pool 2

id mac D057.4C6B.DC7B

number 1 2010

cor incoming Local-CSS default

codec g711ulaw
