Attendant Console overlapping Extensions CUCM 6.0

Hi,

We have a PUb/Sub combo in a main location and have recently cut-over a remote location. That remote location has a receptionist using AC.

Both sites have a site code (XXX.) and then 3 digit extensions. Some of those 3 digit extensions overlap with the other location (although they are in diferent partitions.

It is my understanding that the AC doesnt understand partitions, so how can we set it up so that it can monitor lines in both locations?

We have tried using the full site and extension (XXX XXX) but then it can monitor any of them.

Any ideas?

unfortunately you're right on the fact that AC does not understands overlapping and that cannot be fixed, that is explained in the SRND

Guidelines and Restrictions for AC

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/6x/apps.html#wp1044298

•Console directory and speed-dial windows

Line status displays within the console directory and speed-dial windows are unable to account for shared lines or overlapping extensions. As a result, only the status of the most recently changed line instance is shown when encountering shared or overlapping line appearances.

The reason why the WA of making the extensions 7 digits is that CUCM only monitors DNs that really exist and are assigned to a device. If the DN of the phone is 1234 but you use 777 as the code and in the directory 7771234 since there is no entry in the DB for that number but for 1234 it won't give the status

The UDP packets for the line status will only tell AC which DN changed the status and not which in a particular partition.
