Auto Answer on 7940 phone not working

HI.

I am using 7940 Cisco IP phones and trying to enable the auto-answer from the device configuration page(CCM 4.X) but even after selecting auto answer from headset and speaker it is not working(Auto -answer).

Can someone help me out in resolving this. What could be the possible cause of this.

Latest service release applied ?

Latest phone firmware applied ?

If the answer to either question is "no", further investigation is pointless.

Current version details:

OS version detials :

OS Image : 2000.4.4

OS SR : 2000.4.6sr4

CCM ver : 4.2(3) es72

7940 phone firmware : P00308001000

Not sure about CM, but latest 7940 FW is 8.1(2)

Also let me tell you that on one cluster we are having the same versions for CCM and firmware of the phone but can able to do auto answer there but not in other cluster. Only difference is where i am able to do the auto answer their the phones are configured for single line but where i am not able to do their the phones are configured for double line and i am trying to make auto for the extn configured on the first line.

So now can someone please help me to troubleshoot this issue now.
