Auto register VG224 ports with ccm 4.2(3)sr2b

How can I auto register VG224 ports with CCM. I tried below but did not work. Manual port registration works.

1. System >> Cisco Unified CCM >> uncheck “auto registration disable on ...” .Configure auto registration range and partition. Clicked update and reset devices. Is clicking "reset devices" necessary as it resets other registered phones?

2. Make sure Default device pool points to correct CallManager group and CSS.

3.The default device pool is pointing to a Callmanager group in which “Auto registration CallManager is selected” is checked.

4. Configure below dial peer on all ports on VG224.

AFAIK it's not possible to do the auto-registration with a VG224.

auto-registration is designed to work with the ip phones and the VG224 is considered a gateway

there is a BAT template you can use for that purpose

As per one of the response in this forum,We cannot add VG224 ports through BAT with CCM 4.2(3)sr2b.Refer bug id CSCeg88823.

Do you have any document saying auto registration is not possible with VG224? as it is possible with VG248 which is again registered as a gateway with ccm.
