Avoid faulty BRI lines in 1700 gateway trunk

Old 17xx serie routers used as voip to ISDN gateway

Multiple Vic-2bri nt/te cards configured in a single trunkgroup

Is there a way to avoid use of any telco BRI line when it is faulty (no basic layer present or no line at all) ??

Does router recognize somehow when a BRI line is KO ??

In my simple configuration, it seems sometimes calls go missed when some provider line is temporarily out of service

Thank you

Hi Federico.

For outgoing calls, you can play with preference keyword on diaper configuration in order to select working Line first and switch to other lines in case of busy or down status of the first one.

For incoming calls, unfortunately you have to talk with your provider if they can do a sort of high availability on your lines
