hi all,

when i enter a new router 2801-v , i found the info in CLI

Time out, no test result is received from DSP!

Time out, no test result is received from DSP!

Time out, no test result is received from DSP!

......

and when i do the show voice dsp detailed , the output are:

it seems that the DSP current status is bad, i want to know is there any thing i should do before i use the dsp recourse? or I should do a RMA to get a new PVDM card?

and there are some other show and debug output.

hi Acampbell,
thanks for your reply.

Something you could try is to reset that dsp module.

use the 'test voice driver' command.

- select the slot number it is installed in

C3800 Debugging Section;

1 - FPGA Registers Read/Write

2 - 5510 DSP test

3 - DSPRM test

4 - HDLC32 test

5 - TDM test

6 - Quit

- select option 2

5510 DSP Testing Section:

1 - Reset ALL DSPs

2 - Reset 1 DSP

3 - Download Bootload DSPware

4 - CHPIR Enable/Disable

5 - Display c5510 ring

6 - Show HPI RAM

7 - Show eHPI memory thru Relay command

8 - Show Controller

9 - c5510 Keepalive Enable/Disable

10 - Download bootloader using indirect slave access

11 - Write HPI RAM

12 - DSP application download

13 - faked dsp crash

14 - Wait in Firmware Restart Indication

15 - Display DSP Keepalive Status

16 - QUIT

- select option 2 to reset the DSP

I would also suggest check the keepalive status as well. I could be that the DSP is not installed properly as well and may need to be reseated before doing an RMA.

Hey Yu,

Sorry guess I didn't clarify enough. I didn't mean removing the logical config. But actually powering down the router and checking to make sure the pvdm is firmly seated into the slot.

If you are getting no keep alives from the dsp then a dspware upgrade will not fix the issue. It is most likely a physical problem and would need to be rma'ed after you make sure it is physically seated correctly into the slot.

J

hi Jaschulz,
I have moved the PVDM card from slot 0 to slot 1, but it seems do not work as well.

Hello Yu,

I think that last test you can go ahead is to upgrade the DSPware... How? By upgrading the IOS to a newer version... The "show dsp group all" shows state as failed which is not good... So maybe you can test upgrading IOS and DSPware, then you can issue "show voice dsp group all" and see what's the result...
